Curb Alarm Kit. Be forewarned that conventional 'curb feelers' or 'curb whiskers'
don't work on today's soundproof cars with molded fenders (or
yesterday's classic cars whose metal fenders have been replaced
with molded ones). A sophisticated ultrasonic warning system
is available as an option on some new luxury vehicles, but it
costs at least $300 extra!. Our articulated curb alarms are available at a tiny fraction of the price.
They work by simple mechanical means. No electronics
to go on the blink or batteries to buy. Much quicker and easier to install than the after-market electronic alarms, which require running wires into the car's cabin and enigine compartment. Unique spring-loaded mount on wheelwell rim resists coming loose due to normal road vibrations. When the rubber roller rolls against the
curb, the heavy-duty OVERSIZED jingle bell moves back and forth, jingling whenever
it changes direction. The distinctive jingling sound can easily be heard when
the windows are lowered on the passenger side during the parallel parking process.
This curb alarm kit is not designed for high-slung 4-wheel drive vehicles. It
may not work under some severe weather conditions. No drill-holes are required
on any out-facing surface. In many cases, you can use drill holes originally done by the vehicle manufacturer. In this case, installation should not take more than 10 minutes per alarm!
