LOCKS FOR CORDS Patent Nos. 5894639,5572770,6189186 'Tying
(or Untying) Knots Is Obsolete!'
 |
| | | | Substitute
for knots on most apparel, household and industrial cord applications |
  | Eliminate
unwanted slack on cords from 1/16" to 1/4" diameter | | Great
for seniors, arthritics or the knot-challenged | | Proudly
manufactured in the USA since 1961 | | | |
| | | | As
you may be aware, most molded cord closures are now made overseas. While they
are generally a little less expensive, they also generally do not have the fit
and polish of the domestically-made B-LOK® line, which is now finding application
on higher-end products being advertised as made in the U.S.A. Here are the latest
available models: | | | | | | B-LOK®-1A
Made of soft elastomeric material
in sparkling see-thru colors, recommended for the dual ends
of a drawstring on hats, caps, parkas or other wearing apparel
near or about one's face. To install, gently squeeze the 'ears'
radially inward, insert the cord ends (should be 3/4" tipped
like shoelaces visit www.mitchellace.com)
into the enlarged holes, slide the lock to the desired location
and release the ears to lock. To unlock, gently squeeze the
ears again and slide the lock away from the load.Total recommended
Load on the Lock*
≤ 1Lb. 1/16" ≤ Cord Size ≤ 1/8". |
| | | | | B-LOK®-2L
As of 1/1/2005, made of Delrin (Acetal) stocked in opaque
Black or White colors (custom logo inserts can be made), recommended
for dual ends of a drawstring on flotation vests, small laundry
or duffle bags and miscellaneous wearing apparel. To install,
thread the cords thru the cage at the end opposite to the tab.
Snap the slide into the cage slot at the tab end. Slide the
lock against the load and push the Slide inward to lock. To
unlock, hold the cage with one hand, pull the slide outward
with the other and slide the whole lock away from the load as
desired.Total recommended Load on
the Lock* ≤
25Lbs. 1/16" ≤
Cord Size ≤ 1/8". |
| | | | | B-LOK®-2B Essentially
the same as the -2L, except for a built-in leaf spring in the Slide to make the
lock self-locking, even under no-load conditions. | | | | | B-LOK®-3A
Made in Polypro or Nylon, stocked in opaque Black or
White colors (custom logo inserts can be made) recommended for
the dual ends of a drawstring on larger bags, including laundry,
duffel & sleeping, tiedowns for luggage, ladders & other
cargo, soccerball tethers, etc. Also, the end of the Slide can
accommodate a lanyard for remote opening or discharge. And the
spring arms on the Slide make for a self-locking action. The
-3A installs, locks and unlocks like the -2L & 2B. Total
recommended Load on the Lock*
≤ 50Lbs. 1/8" ≤
Cord Size ≤ 3/16". |
| | | | B-LOK®-4
The first molded spherical spring-loaded cord lock on
the market and still the strongest locking one, made in ABS
stocked in opaque Black (custom logo inserts can be made), recommended
for the single ends of a drawstring on miscellaneous wearing
apparel. To install, depress the plunger until the holes line
up, thread the cord end (should be 3/4"- tipped like shoelaces;
visit www.mitchellace.com
) thru the holes, slide the lock to the desired location and
release the plunger to lock. To unlock, just reverse this procedure
in the obvious manner.Total recommended
Load on the Lock*
≤ 7Lbs. 1/16" ≤
Cord Size ≤ 1/8". |
| | | B-LOK®-5
Essentially a larger, heavier-duty version of the -3A,
but stocked in opaque Manilla Polypro or Natural Nylon ST-801.
This is the original cord lock of this kind on the market. Beware
of recent imitations, which may be a little cheaper, but also
of less quality. Recommended for large bulk bags, rigging for
sailboats, tents & trees and other heavy-duty industrial
applications. Total recommended Load
on the Lock*
≤ 100Lbs. 3/16" ≤
Cord Size ≤ 1/4". |
 | | | | Please
be advised that ITW NEXUS has relinquished its exclusive worldwide distribution
rights of the B-LOK® line back to Progresco Company, which now shares the
same office facilities, including the same Tel and Fax lines, with Odyssey Mfg.
There will be no increase in prices as a result of this change. My father's
estate has given me full ownership of Progresco, which will continue to manufacture
and sell the B-LOKs with custom logos directly to OEMs requiring them. However,
OEMs only needing the standard, off-the-shelf versions should continue to order
them from the nearest authorized Nexus stocking distributors, click on link on
the right (business is done with them 'offline' only):
| | *Due
to the inherent frictional forces involved, the actual load in a bag suspended
upside down could be up to 10X this amount. It is the responsibility of the end-using
customer to determine the suitability of these locks for the specific application.
Progresco's liability shall be limited to replacing parts due to faulty materials
or workmanship.
